First Few Days For Your Loft Conversion

Before construction can begin on your loft extension, scaffolding must be erected around your home to allow our team, their tools and materials access to the roof area. If you have arranged for unwanted items (old water tanks, beds, appliances, etc) in your loft to be cleared - we will do it at this stage. The sight of your home wrapped in steel tubes takes some getting used to! Don't worry, we'll do our best to work quickly and efficiently to complete your loft in the shortest possible time and return your home back to normal.

We will first create an entry point in your roof and provide temporary weatherproofing to keep out the elements. The household's water tank has to move to make way for construction. Our plumbing team re-sites your tank(s) onto the scaffolding platform, where it avoids dust particles and debris. New pipes are used for this task and your water supply is disconnected for about an hour. Naturally, we will give you ample, advance warning before this occurs. To obtain the maximum space usage from your new loft room, we advise a long, narrow water tank placed in the eaves of your roof. A variety of new systems can be installed at this stage too, such as; Megaflows and combination boilers, etc. This will be discussed at our consultation visit.

Finally at this stage, we block off your existing loft hatch from above and lay down temporary flooring for the team to work on. In this period, our specialist stair contractor will measure up and discuss with you, how the stairs will be specified and fit into your landing and the new loft room.
