Applications & Regulations For Your Loft Conversion

All planning applications and regulations are professionally managed on your behalf by Loftlogic. Draft plans are submitted to your Local Authority for determination under Section 63 of the Town and Country Planning Act General Development 1990.

Building and Fire Regulation plans are submitted to your Local Authority Building Control department for appraisal. The structural calculations are sent to the Structural Engineers department for checking and approval. Upon approval, we issue a Statutory Commencement Notice in accordance with the Regulation 14 of the Building Regulation 1985 (amended 1994) Act.

Throughout the project, the work will be inspected approximately three to four times by your Local Authority's surveyors, who will double check that specifications, materials and construction methods are correct and certified.

At the outset we obtain the following permits from your Local Authority prior to the works commencing: i) Skips & material use and storage on the highway (Local Authority Highways Section), ii) Waste disposal containers (New Roads and Street Works Act 1991).
